A young prince has been chosen to represent Beccles alongside the queen and princesses at this year’s carnival.

Harrison Nichols was named prince at the selection afternoon at Blyburgate Hall on May 20, alongside Christine Soanes as queen and Evie Gregson and Brooke Lay as this year’s princesses.

Each day on Enjoy Beccles More we are finding out more about our royal representatives.

Today, in our final piece, we meet Harrison.

Name: Harrison Nichols

Age: 9

Where do you live: Beccles

What I like best about Beccles:

The best thing for me about Beccles is that there is lots of places I can go walking with my dog and family.

Why I wanted to be a Beccles ambassador 2018:

I wanted to be Beccles carnival prince ambassador because it will be really fun and I get to be part of the carnival.

What I am looking forward to the most:

I have grown up in Beccles so I know lots of people so I am looking forward to seeing everyone over the carnival weekend.

Chosen charity:

I picked the Thirst Youth Café as my chosen organisation because I would like to go to the club when I get older to make new friends and learn new skills and without funding it will not be there for me to go to.

Hobbies and interests:

I love running and run with Beccles and Bungay Harriers, I also like football and play football for Beccles bees. I also enjoy playing with friends in the park.
