Meet the second of Beccles' new carnival princesses
Two princess attendants have been chosen to represent Beccles alongside the queen at this year's carnival.
Evie Gregson and Brooke Lay took the princess crowns at the selection afternoon at Blyburgate Hall on May 20, alongside Christine Soanes as queen and Harrison Nichols as this year’s prince.
Each day on Enjoy Beccles More we are finding out more about our royal representatives.

What school do you attend: Sir John Leman High School
What I like best about Beccles:
The thing I like best about Beccles is that everyone is friendly and it’s a great community. There are amazing places to go visit like the lido and the quay.
Why I wanted to be a Beccles ambassador 2018:
I wanted to be picked because I’d like to be someone people of my age will look up to in Beccles. I think its such an amazing opportunity to meet new people in Beccles and at other events we attend such are the Lord Mayor’s Procession.
What I am looking forward to the most:
I can’t wait to go to the Lord Mayor’s Procession in Norwich. I have watched it before and it is an experience I would love to be in there are so many people and floats. Also Beccles Carnival weekend will be great I will get to be in the parade again and join in with the fun at the quay I am really looking forward to the dog show.
Why I picked Beccles Museum to raise money for:
I picked Beccles Museum as people forget we have a museum and it is important to show people what Beccles used to be like. There is amazing facts and things of Beccles’ history in there and I want to help make sure we keep this in Beccles.
Hobbies and interests:
I do gymnastics, as I live on a farm I enjoy helping mum and dad with all the animals and helping with the events we run there during the year. I like dancing, singing, acting, and I enjoy cooking.
Don’t forget to visit Enjoy Beccles More tomorrow where we will meet our carnival prince. You can also join our Enjoy Beccles More Facebook page!
