Held at Bungay High School on June 24, the three-hour examination included demonstrations of techniques including kicks, patterns, sparring, self-defence, power destruction and Korean terminology.

Global Taewkwondo UK regional examiner, Steve King 6th dan, said it was one of the best gradings he had seen and was very pleased with the standards displayed by the students.

Mr King congratulated them on their work and commitment to training, before they were rewarded with an excellent 100pc pass rate. Bungay Taekwondo Club students also received 100pc.

Beccles Taekwondo Club is run by black belt instructors Nigel and Susan Bedingfield, who are supported by a team of black belt and black tag students. Classes are held from 7pm to 8.30pm on Mondays and Thursdays at The Venue, Beccles Sports Centre, and free taster sessions are available.

At Beccles Golf Club, the The prestigious RPC M&H Plastics Cup was proudly won by Craig Allen-Gill with some suitably sparkling golf on a glorious summer’s day.

Blue skies and warm sun shone on competitors and guests for the generously-sponsored event which saw Allen-Gill pepper the flag throughout for a fine 39 points.

Second and third were separated on countback two shots further back, with David Wells just pipping captain David Trunks to the runner-up spot.

Plenty of quality golf was on display throughout the event, with the guests’ prize won by Peter Poulson and an array of further side bet awards kindly donated by MPC M&H Plastics.

Captain Trunks paid special thanks to event organisers Brian Debenham, Will White, Liz Chenery and Carmen Debenham. A fine buffet was greatly enjoyed on the fine, old clubhouse veranda dating back to 1899, while the bar did a roaring trade in the sunshine.

Sponsors MPC M&H Plastics once again showed great community support and provided Beccles Golf Club with an excellent event.
