Community Corner: Beccles Bombles, bombling free
PUBLISHED: 09:00 16 April 2018
This week in Community Corner we are turning the spotlight on one of the town’s most well-known groups, the Beccles Bombles.
Beccles Bombles have been actively litter picking around Beccles for more than three years.
They are a friendly group who want to make Beccles the most litter free town in Waveney.
Founder member Caroline Topping said: “There is something quite satisfying and addictive to litter picking. A good walk, with a friendly crowd, whilst doing something useful.
“Members of the community are welcome to join us and can email Beccles Town Council on firstname.lastname@example.org. We also have a Facebook group which has up to date information on where we are picking, which is usually every Tuesday at 3pm, search for Bombles (Beccles Wombles).
“Our next pick is on Tuesday, April 17 from Big Dog Ferry mooring and is at the earlier time of 2pm as we are picking the river and bank in partnership with River Waveney Trust, Big Dog Ferry, Hippersons Boatyard and the Broads Authority.”
The Enjoy Beccles More team would love to hear about all of your groups, and spread the word further. If you would like to be a part of our Community Corner, please contact us on email@example.com or visit our Facebook page.
