Community Corner: Beccles Community Gardeners in the spotlight

Every week on Enjoy Beccles More we will be highlighting all of Beccles' brilliant community groups - showing what a range of skills, interests and volunteer roles our town has to offer.
First up in our Community Corner is a group giving the town an extra layer of colour.
Beccles Community Gardeners is a group that has been set up by the Beccles Town Council Pride in Beccles working party.
The gardeners meet at key dates during the year to improve shared community spaces, including Exchange square, Beccles Quay, Blyburgate car park and the fire station gardens on Ravensmere.
Some plants are provided by Waveney Norse and others plus equipment is purchased by the town council.
The group organiser Elfrede Brambley-Crawshaw said: “We always have a wonderful and fun time gardening in the community, it is very satisfying to leave a shared space tidy, beautiful and blooming with flowers for everyone to enjoy.
“Beccles is great town to live in and we hope to do even more this year to make it even better.
“Members of the public are welcome to join us and can register their interest by emailing Charlie at Beccles Town Council on firstname.lastname@example.org.
“We also have a Facebook group for keeping up to date with events and activities, search for Beccles Community Gardeners.
“Our next project is on April 21 at 10am at Exchange Square gardens in Beccles.”
The Enjoy Beccles More team would love to hear about all of your groups, and spread the word further. If you would like to be a part of our Community Corner, please contact us on email@example.com.
