However more than anything we want you, the people of Beccles, to use the site as a platform to shout about what you think is so great about this Suffolk gem.

When we asked members of the Enjoy Beccles More Facebook group their favourite things about the town we got a range of responses which perfectly illustrate the enduring charm of the town.

For some it was all about the food

Kaye Nichols said Oakfired Pizza at the Royal Oak was her favourite thing while Geoff Maddison opted for Sunday lunch at Graze.

Roe Chapman said: “I love the fact that there is everything here but I really love the river walks.

Susan Pool agreed and listed “life on the Broads’ as the best part of Beccles life.

Many simply focused on the people of Beccles

Sue Bergin said her favourite thing was the “community spirit” running through the town, while Claire Smallman believes it is “the easy going pace of everyone.”

Christine Catchpole was born in the town and said: “I think it is a great town to grow up in or live near to.”

For Carol Okazaki the welcoming nature of Beccles residents stood out most. Her favourite aspect of the town is “how quick and easy it is to feel at home.”

Ian Addison added: “I came here 34 years ago and wouldn’t live anywhere else.”
