Muncheon Mingle will once again bring old and young together with a day of activities and games organised by pupils from two Beccles schools.

On Wednesday, July 4, pupils from Beccles Free School and Sir John Leman High School, supported by East Suffolk Communities Team, will be running a Muncheon Mingle event.

The event will see activities provided by the pupils alongside free tea and cake from 1pm to 3pm at Beccles Free School.

Mary Rudd, cabinet member for community health and safety at Waveney District Council, said: “Our first Muncheon Mingle was well received, with lots of older residents from Beccles and the surrounding area attending and we hope this second event will be equally as popular.

“The event aims to build relationships between older and younger members of the community and helps tackle social isolation and loneliness which can be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of our older residents.”

Free transport is available for older residents wishing to attend, and to book call 01502 523185.
