The historic Piccadilly Putter Trophy player at Beccles Golf Club was won in fine style by Benjamin Turner in warm, blustery conditions.

Turner’s net 67 in the medal event saw him finish two net shots clear of playing partner Tom Youngman and six shots clear of Jamie Allen in third to claim victory.

Despite an inelegant start, Turner knuckled down to produce a stream of regulation pars and a nice birdie two on the 17th hole.

Youngman kept in touch throughout however, showing characteristic fine touch around the greens with some attractive flop shots to the small, fast greens.

Captain David Trunks awarded the iconic Trophy and paid tribute to the continuing efforts of David Wells to maintain the greens. The Captain also spoke proudly of the influx of new members and competitive players following recent promotions.
