Siân Berry visited the town last month to see first hand the community work of councillors Elfrede Brambley-Crawshaw and Graham Elliott during a meeting at the cafe in Beccles Railway Station last month.

The leader said: “It is great to come to Beccles and to see so many people who are committed to supporting the work of the Green councillors in the town. With such a great team and such enthusiastic candidates there is a great opportunity in next year’s election.”

Around 30 people gathered to hear Ms Berry speak.

Mrs Brambley-Crawshaw, who is also mayor of the town said: “Sian’s poignant speech about the importance of community, the negative effects of austerity and doing our bit to mitigate against the worst effects of global warming was a timely reminder of the importance of standing for what we believe in.”

Mr Elliott added: “It is a great honour to have a visit from our coleader to support our work and to endorse our candidacy for next year’s District Council election. The new enlarged District Council wards will be harder but with a clear choice between the Green Party and the Conservative Party we have an excellent chance of winning.”
